The Battle Lake High School Mock Trial team won a hard-fought trial against Cambridge-Isanti at the Region 1 Championship Trial on Thursday, February 15th. The team now advances to the State Tournament, which will be held at the Federal Courthouse in Saint Paul on March 7-8, where they will compete for a State Championship against fifteen other teams.
Kyleigh Shebeck scored a perfect 10 from one of the judges on her closing argument, and Graycie Cameron also received a perfect 10 for her performance on cross examination, which are impressive achievements.
Claire Kraemer also advances to State in the courtroom artist competition, one of only eight finalists from around the entire State of Minnesota, and she will travel with the team to compete against the other courtroom artist finalists at the State Tournament.
