Junior High OTC football gear night is at the Battle Lake cafeteria on Monday, Aug 19. 8th graders at 5:30pm, 7th graders at 6:00pm. The first practice is at BL on Tuesday, Aug 20 from 4:30 to 6:30.
There will be no Bulldogs soccer this week. Thanks for all your hard work in July.
Reminder: Youth FB clinic Tuesday and Thursday this week at 6 pm by the school playground. This is free and open to students in 1st through 6th grade.
There will be an optional fall activity registration meeting for 7-12 students and parents this Wednesday evening at 6:30pm in the Media Center. There will be a new online registration process for the 2024-25 school year. The new registration link will be sent out the afternoon of Tuesday, August 6th. The meeting on Wednesday is intended to provide assistance with this registration process and answer any questions about participation in activities. 9-12 football and volleyball as well as 7-12 cross country practices begin at 8:00am, Monday Aug 12th. All students who plan on participating in these activities, must be registered prior to those start dates.
Due to the weather, Bulldogs soccer is canceled for Wednesday, July 31st.

I am Mr. Biles, the new band director! I am so excited to be here, and we are getting closer and closer to the start of the school year! It has been a very busy summer, but as the school year is fast approaching I am looking forward to meeting my students and other members of the community! 4 Summer Rec Announcements:
#1. Picture Day with Caulfield Studio is Monday, June 17. Please send t-shirts for group photos, even if you choose not to purchase a photo package.
#2. Henning needs to change the date of the annual evening game from June 27 to June 20. That means all teams 3rd grade and older will play morning games in Battle Lake (versus Wadena-Deer Creek 1) and will also play the evening games in Henning. Tee and Toss teams will practice in the morning in Battle Lake and will start their games at 5:30pm in Henning, with the older teams playing after Tee and Toss.
#3. There will be practice (no games) on Thursday, June 27.
#4. Tanya Maethner will be leaving the district on June 21; Jenny Roisum will take over Community Ed responsibilities and can be reached at communityed@isd542.org, beginning June 24.

Do you want to learn more about agriculture in a fun, outdoor, hands-on setting?
Battle Lake High School is offering a Summer Agriculture Course. This course would consist of 8 classes, 4 hours in length. Each of these classes would focus on a different area of agriculture ranging from drones, to floriculture, small engines, and more!
Do you want to join FFA?
FFA is an Intercurricular Organization, meaning, for students to fully participate, they must be enrolled in an Agriculture Education Course. This class could be your ticket to be a member of FFA!
