**Job Posting: Music Teacher (Grades 4-8), Junior High & High School Band Director**
The Battle Lake Public School District invites passionate and skilled educators to apply for the position of Music Teacher for grades 4-8, Junior High Band, and High School Band Director, commencing with the 2024-2025 school year. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated individual to contribute to our esteemed music program, nurturing students' musical talents and leading our bands to new heights of performance excellence.
**Responsibilities:**
- Develop and implement a comprehensive music education program for students in grades 4-8, including both classroom music theory and performance skills.
- Direct the Junior High and High School bands, including concert bands and any other ensemble groups, ensuring a variety of musical experiences.
- Organize, conduct, and supervise rehearsals and performances for school events, competitions, and community gatherings.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages student participation and growth in music.
- Collaborate with school staff and administration to integrate music education across the curriculum and participate in interdisciplinary projects.
- Manage the music program's administrative tasks, including music selection, arranging performances, and coordinating with external music organizations or guest artists.
- Engage with the community to uphold and promote the school's tradition of musical excellence and to enhance the profile of the arts within the area.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field, with a valid teaching certificate.
- Proven experience in directing bands at the junior high and/or high school levels, with a strong background in music theory and performance.
- Excellent skills in musicianship and leadership, with the ability to inspire and motivate young musicians.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with a commitment to building positive relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in arranging music, directing school musicals, or a demonstrated interest in broadening students' exposure to diverse musical genres and performance opportunities.
