In honor of Earth Day the second graders watched the Lorax and then planned and created the tallest Truffula Tree possible. They all met the challenge working with small groups, the same materials, and time limit. We learned that gravity was the other teammate that made it challenging to create as tall of trees as originally sketched. All teams gracefully kept on using trial and error to meet the challenge. Great job, second graders!

Battle Lake School was awarded a "Stop Arm Grant" totaling $18,300 in late 2022. The grant included ten camera sets (one outside, one inside) and all hardware. Installation of the "Stop Arm Cameras" began in December 2022 and as of April 1, 2023, Battle Lake School has a total of 14 buses that are now equipped with camera technology!
